Kamaʻāina and visitors can explore Hawaiʻi’s unique and unparalleled cultural and natural history during Bishop Museum After Hours. See Kalaniʻōpuʻu’s feather ʻahu ʻula (cape) and mahiole (helmet) in Hawaiian Hall; check out Hawaiʻi’s animal and plant biodiversity in the Science Adventure Center; explore new exhibitions in the Castle Memorial Building. Spend your evening under Honolulu’s star-lit sky on the Great Lawn with a meal from a local food truck and music. Bishop Museum has a safe and socially distanced, family-friendly experience for everyone.
Once a timed admission is booked, please arrive anytime during your check-in hour. Arriving after your booked hour check-in window by more than 15 minutes may require entry on a space-available basis. Once checked in, all admissions are welcome to stay until 8 p.m.
Explore a collection of photographs and plaster busts created by anthropologist Louis R. Sullivan as a tool to measure and classify the physical traits of a supposedly “pure” Native Hawaiian race. Despite its problematic racist origins, the Sullivan Collection has taken on new life as one of the Museum’s primary sources for genealogical research, and as a vehicle for rediscovering ancestors and genealogical connections.
Sixty-six million years ago, some of the most iconic dinosaurs ruled the Earth: Tyrannosaurus Rex, Triceratops, Edmontosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus, the curious oviraptorsaur Anzu and more. These creatures survived and thrived right up until the catastrophic event that changed the course of life on Earth. This exhibit will focus on the day before and the years after the massive extinction event. You will meet the dinosaurs of the Cretaceous period up close on the day before the extinction, learn the details of the asteroid impact that changed our Earth forever, and discover the rise of the mammals in the aftermath and recovery of Earth’s ecosystem.

- Hourly check-in time slots starting at 9 a.m., and last check-in at 7 p.m. will manage the flow of guests during the day.
- If you currently hold a General Admission ticket or pre-paid voucher such as a Groupon that is still valid, those tickets will be honored on a space-available basis on the day of attendance. On holidays and weekends, we suggest calling ahead to make sure space is available.
- Members are encouraged to reserve FREE Timed General Admission tickets in advance, to minimize contact with staff.
Special rates are available below for kama‘āina and military. A Hawai‘i State ID, Hawai‘i Driver’s License, or active military identification is required. This reduced timed admission is also available to students attending colleges and universities in Hawai‘i with valid student ID. Bishop Museum reserves the right to require customers to present collateral documentation establishing residency.
