This event is sold out of pre-sale tickets. Additional tickets for the the event will be available for Members and the general public will be available at the door, July 23, 2021.

  • General Admission registration begins Friday, July 16, 2021
  • Non-member guests of Bishop Museum members will need to purchase a general admission ticket available beginning Friday, July 16, 2021
  • Parking: $3 per vehicle - credit card only (free for members with their parking decal displayed) 
  • Walk-ins will be admitted on a space-available basis.

Join your Bishop Museum ʻohana for an evening event featuring artists and activities inspired by our current exhibit POW! WOW! The First Decade: From Hawaiʻi to the World 

 

In addition to the exhibit staying open during the event, the evening will include: 

  • Exhibit tours by POW! WOW! directors Kamea Hadar and Jeff Gress
    • Two tours will depart from the exhibit entrance at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m. with space available for 10 attendees each on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • Graffiti workshops with Melon James 
    • Learn about the fundamentals of graffiti and brief history. Melon James will lead a workshop to introduce the audience to the basics of graffiti and give a brief overview of its history and current role in artwork. Learn how artists create their own style and learn to write your name in graffiti.
    • Workshops will begin at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m. with seating space available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • Coloring and collaborative mural with Gary Draws Fish
    • Several designs by Gary Draws Fish will be available for keiki and guests of all ages to get colorful and creative with. Attendees can take their pieces home, or add them to the communal mural throughout the night.  
  • Local grinds available for purchase from Guaiqueri and Da Hub.
